San Francisco Guide | Where to Eat

One of the perks of getting to travel for work a lot is that I get to explore new places. I spent 5+ weeks in San Francisco (during covid!) and made it my goal to try out a variety of restaurants, once they were opened up.

Here are a few of my favorites. Be sure to check them out if you’re in town!

Address: 816 Folsom St San Francisco, CA 94107-1123

This was probably my favorite restaurant of the bunch. I sat on the terrace/patio, so I had a different experience of what the Gallery may offer – they have different menus. Not only was the service incredible, but they recommended some of the most exquisite food. I had their wine and focaccia while I waited. The focaccia was brought out to me because the starter was taking too long (although I wasn’t even in a rush)! For the starter, I had the buttermilk fried chicken bites (OMG!! and pictured), and for the main, I had the house-smoked andouille (a delicious sausage) with dirty rice and okra. It was incredible, and sadly, I did not have room for dessert.

I was meeting up with a girlfriend I hadn’t seen since high school, and we both were craving some Spanish food. Bellota was not our first choice for the night (we wanted to go to Coqueta originally, but they were completely booked), but I was pretty pleased with the place. The restaurant feels authentic, including a wall of jamón on display and a great selection of Spanish wine. We ordered a few tapas between us to share, but mostly, I was there for the wine.

Address: 25 Yerba Buena Ln, San Francisco, CA 94103-3183

I was craving some spicy food, and this fit the bill. What I didn’t expect was how great the service would be, and how beautifully designed the plates would be too. I ordered samosa for my starter and lamb curry for my main (and red wine, because I’m me).

Truffle Poke (SSF)

Address: 101 Oyster Point Blvd # 107, South San Francisco, CA 94080

This place was a chance discovery. I was working nearby and drove past it several times before stopping by to grab lunch. The ingredients were incredible, fresh, and the portions were great value! I think I ate here at least 3 times. Be sure to try some of their signature sauces in your poké bowl!
